How Clocked handles your chat
Your export stays on your device
We parse WhatsApp exports and calculate texting stats in your browser. Original files and full conversations aren’t uploaded or saved to our servers. Closing the page clears the conversation from memory.
AI awards ask first
If you choose AI awards, a limited sample is sent through our proxy to DeepSeek via OpenRouter. Participant names are replaced with IDs, and phone numbers, emails, handles and URLs are removed. We don’t log message content. We request zero-retention providers; exceptional safety or legal retention may still apply.
Sharing a card is your choice
Saving cards happens on your device. Creating a member or vote link uploads the card image and the information needed for that link. One short receipt quote may appear on the card. Links expire after seven days. Recipients can remove or report their member card. Reported links are hidden for review.
Accounts are optional
Accounts hold your email or Apple identifier and your vote ownership. They don’t synchronize your chats. Email codes verify sign-in. The waitlist requires a separate opt-in after verification.
Account deletion removes the account and its linked vote pages. Apple disconnection may retry in the background; the encrypted credentials needed for that request are kept for at most seven days, then removed.
Reporting a read
In-app read reports send a selected reason, processing route, app version and a random read reference. No chat or generated read is attached. Reports are kept for seven days. Authorized moderators can review reports and shared cards, and remove reported links.
Limits and cookies
A first-party cookie helps prevent repeat votes. We use a salted hash of the network address for abuse prevention, with short retention. We don’t use advertising trackers in this build.
Anonymous usage counts
When enabled for this service, Clocked counts fixed actions such as opening a vote or sharing a card. Counts contain no chats, names, account identifiers, vote links or device identifiers. We keep daily totals for thirteen months and random event receipts for one day to avoid counting retries twice. Analytics uses no cookies or browser fingerprint. Network addresses are used separately for short-lived abuse limits.
Verified purchase totals are counted separately from app and browser usage, once per verified store transaction. These are action counts, not a record of individual people or journeys. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track disable browser usage counts.
Before sharing
Only use chats you are part of. Check the card for identifying or sensitive information before sharing it. Clocked is for adults 18 and older. AI awards are opinions and may be wrong.
